My Story
I’ve been sewing since I was a little girl growing up in DownEast Maine. My family was a home-made wonder, knitting, sewing, crocheting and cooking from scratch. When I could not find what I needed or wanted in the stores, I learned to make it.

I love the feel and the look of fabrics made from various fibers and putting the fabrics together to see what the final picture is. It’s a bit like making art, a bit like building from a kaleidoscope. So, then what to do with all these loose ends of fabrics once they are sewn into some art? Bags are a wonderful showcase for the colors and textures. And I cannot use all that I make. I’ve given them away, and decided to sell bags to support my habit.

Some of my clients have asked me what inspires me when making my bags. I am surrounded by artists and designers, and like spending time viewing the art of other people. I’m happiest out of doors, hiking or walking and nature provides an endless variety of pattern and color.

Handbags, bags, purses, whatever you call them, are our best accessories. I make them out of recycled fabrics, so whatever is available, that’s what’s in the bags. I sell by special order by word of mouth. Some of my bags take several days to make.
