The Arts
Arts in the Park is one of the most respected fine arts and crafts festivals in Midcoast Maine. The variety of artwork and crafts is outstanding, and continuous live music and the smells of freshly grilled food add to the festival atmosphere.

Camden, Maine’s newest yarn shop. Our highest priority is to provide a friendly, communal and helpful atmosphere where knitters of all skill levels can move forward with their knitting. They feature a large selection of beautiful yarns including those made from traditional wools, alpaca, cashmere, cotton and other interesting blends. They carry Swan’s Island yarn and hand woven textiles which are organic and vegetable dyed. Hand dyed and novelty yarns are part of the mix. Needles, buttons and other accessories round out the shop.

Fiber College of the Penobscot
This is a completely volunteer-driven, learning festival devoted to introducing, maintaining and furthering traditional arts using all forms of fiber. The professional artists who teach these classes offer them at a reduced rate so that you can sample new vistas and share your passions.

Cute local yarn shop with lots of sock yarn, but also a good amount of thicker yarns. Mostly mass produced, and a corner of local/hand-dyed stuff. Average prices. Cute selection of buttons.
