"Farmington Winterberries" was originally painted in oils on an 11"x14" artist's mdf panel. When we think of November in Maine, we often think of the brown of bare trees, gray skies, and yellow grass, but there are plants that offer artists a splash of bright color in a often muted landscape, and winterberries are just such a one. This particular scene was spotted by the artist on Titcomb Hill Road near cow pastures and mountain scenes, just a mere mile or two from the hustle and bustle of the UMaine Farmington campus.
